We just had a sweet couple move out of their home next door. I prayed for whom the Lord would bring next. Once a couple moved in, the thought of giving a neighbor gift bag kept coming up!
I was trying to think of a good time to meet the new couple. Pretty quickly, they hired someone to cut down the dying willow tree (we were happy about that). This brought an opportunity for my brother and dad to meet them.
As I watered my garden, I continued to think when I would meet them. So, I decided to gather some items from my mom and sister-in-law to take over to the couple. I planned in my head and waited until I baked my sourdough loaves. I typically bake two loaves every three to four days. The day after I baked, this is what we came up with:

What we put in the gift bag
A woven bag (a similar one here), along with some shortbread cookies (my favorite shortbread cookies and gluten free too!), a candle, candied almonds, a few cards and a fresh loaf of sourdough. We tied some ribbons on the candle and bag as well as some bright tissue to support the summer feelings.
Just some little things to let the neighbors know we are here, thinking about them and want to invite them to the neighborhood.
Come to find out, the lady wants some more sourdough and tips on gardening. Hoping and praying for a friendship as we go.
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Romans 13:2

Just a little something to love on others as the Lord guides us. Now, I hope you can pop over a gift to a new neighbor or even someone you notice this week.
